CNewsworld.com: Arrest warrants issued for Ayaz Latif Palijo over Lyari rally plan

KARACHI: Sindh Home Ministry on Sunday issued an arrest warrant for Awami Tehreek (AT) leader Ayaz Latif Palijo a day before his party’s scheduled rally in Lyari, SAMAA reports.
The AT is going to hold ‘Shaheedan-e-Muhabbat-e-Sindh Jalsa’ on Sunday at Gabol Park, Lyari, almost two months after the party’s anti-Mohajir province rally was attacked by unknown gunmen in the city’s locality, killing 12 people.
The incident had triggered violence in the city and strikes and protest demonstrations throughout the Sindh.
Sources said the warrants were issued by the government after it banned all public meeting in the city for five days, in the wake of a possible unrest in the city.
Talking to SAMAA from an undisclosed location, Palijo vowed to join the rally tomorrow on Sunday “at all cost”. — SAMAA
