CNET Analysis: Apple may be in the midst of preparing to unleash a new iPhone 5S or iPhone 6 this year, but the company has reminded the world that the current iPhone 5 still has a lot to offer. Two new iPhone 5 ads have been spotted on television and attempt to show off some of the newest features that are available on iOS 6.1.2. The commercials have been packaged with Apple’s typical swagger and have been both been given titles as well: ‘Brilliant’ and ‘Discover’ respectively. The first ad Brilliant gives you a 30 second reminder on some of the more unusual features available on the iPhone 5. Some of these involve turning your device into a rubik’s cube, solving some mathematical algebra and paying for a Starbucks coffee using Passbook. The smart clip also shows off Apple’s new LED home lighting system that allows you to control lamps directly from the iPhone. The second ad is all about discovery and gives you another look at how you can use the iPhone 5 to tune a guitar directly. You can also use the handy Shazam app to discover the name of a song you have heard but do not know about. You can watch the Brilliant television ad above, while the Discover ad can be seen on YouTube here . What do you make of the timing of these ads, considering we are now approaching the business end of Apple product releases? Does the iPhone 5 still appeal to you, or are you waiting for a new model now?
