LAHORE: The full bench of Lahore High Court will hear the petition filed by PPP regarding powers of Acting Governor on Monday.The LHC bench will be headed by Chief Justice LHC, Justice Syed Zahid Hussain.It may be mentioned here that the dispute started when Acting governor Rana Iqbal had appointed people on important positions while Governor Salman Taseer was on a foreign tour.

CNews LAHORE: Punjab Governor Salman Taseer on directives of Prime Minister Yousuf Raza Gilani called on the Leader of the Opposition in National Assembly Chaudhry Pervaiz Elahi here, sources said. The two leaders discussed presidential election, future of the Punjab government and other matters of mutual interest, sources further said. The two leaders also talked over the name of Hamid Nasir Chattha as the new chief minister of Punjab, the sources added.

CNews LAHORE: Pakistan Muslim League-N Thursday decided to boycott the oath taking ceremony of the appointed Governor for Punjab Salman Taseer.Earlier, PML-N leader Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan said no consultations were made with Pakistan Muslim League-N leaders for the appointment of the new governor in Punjab. He termed appointment of Salman Taseer as Governor Punjab part of a conspiracy.He also said that the appointed Governor Salman Taseer is a highly controversial person and is not suitable for the position.Pakistan Peoples Party on the other hand denied reports that the PML-N leaders were not consulted for the appointment of the new governor. Khawaja Asif in reaction to the statement of PPP said: “There is a difference between consulting and informing.”
