Awaz Public Ki {Election Special}

The people of Pakistan are due to vote in national and provincial elections on Monday. Here voters - and people boycotting - from across Pakistan describe their hopes and concerns. On election day they will be sharing their experiences on the CNews News blog. SHAHEEN ZEB, 44, SCHOOL TEACHER, PESHAWAR I am voting for the Pakistan People's Party (PPP) because it will help the poor. It is going to offer jobs to everybody and it will try to improve the economy. The party says it will help people start their own small businesses. We will get on the road to being self-sufficient and being able to feed our families. Education is also important to me. Everything is very bad in the government education system. Everything is rundown, we don't have many facilities, text books are basic. Even the teaching can be basic. Students just sit in rows and memorise lessons. As a school teacher, it is compulsory to have an official role at the polling station. I'm very scared about this becau...

Awaz Public Ki {Send Your Comments Mfarhanonline@msn.com}

NABEEL ARSHED, STUDENT, RAWALPINDI Nabeel Arshed feels the country is spiralling out of control I was in Rawalpindi town at the time of the assassination. I heard an explosion but suicide bombs have become routine in this country so I didn't give it a second thought. When I turned on the news I got the shock of my life. I come from a family with rightist sympathies but we all feel as if our mother had died. She was a liberal force, a hope for a Pakistan overrun by militancy. Now there is a great vacuum. My fears are for Pakistan's unity. She went to the restive province of Balochistan and handed her support to the people there. Whatever we were going through, I felt as if she had the power to unite the provinces of Pakistan. Now you can already hear the separatist movement. Those voices are becoming stronger now that there is no national leader in Pakistan. We were already in a downward spiral, heading towards extremism. This was the last straw: killing a stalwart for democracy...
