Tahreek-e-Taliban take responsiblity for Karachi M.A Jinnah Road Bomb blast

Awaz Apni: Pakistan's Taliban on Wednesday claimed responsibility for a suicide bombing that killed 43 people in the commercial capital Karachi on Monday, and threatened more attacks. "My group claims responsibility for the Karachi attack and we will carry out more such attacks, within 10 days," Asmatullah Shaheen, one of the commanders of Tehrik-Taliban Pakistan (TTP), or Taliban Movement of Pakistan, told Reuters.

Karachi tragedy toll rises to 43 KARACHI: The death toll in the suicide blast yesterday at the mourning procession taken out in connection with Yaum-e-Ashur rose to 43, According to Secretary Health Syed Hashim Raza Zaidi, there are at least 40 bodies at Civil Hospital, two in Jinnah Hospital and a body is present at Agha Khan Hospital. AWAZ APNI KARACHI: At least 22 people were killed and scores of people wounded on Monday after a powerful blast ripped through Karachi’s main Ashura procession at MA Jinnah Road.Sindh Health Minister Dr. Saghir Ahmed confirmed AWAZ APNI that 20 people were martyred in the blast. The blast triggered stampede and panic among the mourners, who pelted stones at the police vehicles. AWAZ APNI KARACHI: Prime Minister Syed Yousuf Raza Gilani condemned the blast that occurred in the central mourning procession in progress in connection with the Yaum-e-Ashur, AWAZ APNI News reported Monday.The Prime Minister appealed the citizens to remain peaceful.It should be mentioned that soon after the blast occurred, stampeded followed and various vehicles have been torched. The inflamed people pelted the police vehicles with stones. According to eyewitnesses, also, IG vehicle was also vandalized.

AWAZ APNI KARACHI : At least 22 people were killed and 50 others injured in a bomb explosion at Ashura procession on M A Jinnah road, here on Monday, AWAZ APNI News reported.According to the report, explosion took place near Jama Cloth.Interior Minister Rehman Malik, MQM Chief, Altaf Hussain, City Nazim Mustafa kamal and CCPO Karachi strongly condemned the incident and asked the people to maintain peace.Victims have been taken to Jinnah, Civil and other hospitals where emergency has been imposed.Police and rangers have cordoned off the area.Ambulances and Rescue teams reached the site soon after the incident.

The blast occurred in the front part of the central mourning procession near Denso Hall at Jamia Cloth Market triggering stampede. All other Ashura processions have been stopped throughout the city and the law and order situation is getting out of hand and MA Jinnah Road is on fire. One wishes and hope that no more such tragic incident happens. But only if the Shia leaders could have sensed the coming terrorism threats and would have held processions indoor.

AWAZ APNI LONDON: Muttahida Qaumi Movement chief Altaf Hussain has strongly condemned the bomb blast occurred at Karachi’s main Ashura procession today.In a statement issued here from London, Hussain appealed to the mourners to stay calm after the blast.

Qaim, Mirza with varying opinions over Karachi blasts

CNews Karachi: Sindh Chief Minister Syed Qaim Ali Shah and Provincial Home minister Zulfiqar Mirza have been reported to be at variance with each other over the investigations of Karachi bomb blasts that ripped various parts of the city yesterday. Zulfiqar Mirza did not attend the special meeting to discuss law and order chaired by Sindh CM. Both the principal figures of the province held separate meetings one after the other with difference of some hours. Meantime, Sindh Home minister nullified the orders of Chief Minister Qaim Ali Shah for suspending the TPOs, DSP and SHOs of the affected areas, saying the action against the negligent officers would be taken only after the investigations. None would be suspended before time, he added. Sindh CM instituted an investigative committee comprising DIG Police Aleem Jafery and AD Khawja; whereas, the home minister appointed Saud Mirza as the investigative officer to probe into the incidents.
