CNews ISLAMABAD: The Special Draft committee of the ruling coalition on Saturday held it’s meeting to discuss the charge sheet against President Musharraf. The meeting was held in the chamber of Leader of the House in Senate Raza Rabbani. The committee decided to prepare a detailed charge sheet on constitutional irregularities, misuse of power and misconduct of the president. Sherry Rehman, Farooq H. Naek, Mian Raza Rabbani, Farhat ullah Babar and Ahsan Iqbal attended the meeting. PML-N Ishaq Dar could not attend due to some personal reason. The committee further discussed ruling coalition’s strategy for August 11 National Assembly session. Special draft Committee will meet again today to finalize the draft of charge sheet against the president.

CNews ISLAMABAD: Minister for Law and Justice Farooq H Naek Saturday said the supreme court of Pakistan has no authority to challenge the impeachment powers of the parliament. Talking to media he said Supreme Court also has no powers to stay the process of impeachment. SC can’t challenge the independence and the supremacy of the parliament. Constitution does not permit any institution including the SC to hit the sovereignty of the parliament. The powers of impeachment lie with the parliament and no one has a right to interfere in it. Referring to constitution he said removal of the president was possible if he violates the constitution, commits gross misconduct or goes physically incapable. A detailed charge sheet was being prepared keeping in view aforementioned reasons. Firstly, the president would be asked to get vote of confidence from the parliament as promised by him last year in the supreme court. CNews ISLAMABAD: The ruling coalition’s four-member Draft Committee has completed the draft regarding impeachment of President pervez Musharraf at the chamber of Leader of the House in Senate.The committee comprises of Ishaq Dar, Ahsan Iaqbal, Sherry Rehman, Farooq H. Naek and Raza Rabbani. Ishaq Dar has left for Punjab House to discuss the draft with Mian Nawaz Sharif. The joint statement would be issued to media at 3pm in Zardari House today.

ISLAMABAD: People’s Party Co-chairman Asif Ali Zardari has decided to start consultations over the proposed 18th constitutional amendment package with the coalition partners. “Awami National Party’s Asfandyar Wali will meet Wednesday afternoon with Asif Ali Zardari,” ANP spokesman Zahid Khan said. The two leaders will discuss the constitutional package, NWFP government matters and other issues. The constitutional package is likely to redefine the appointment and removal of judges and the presidential powers. Federal Minister of Law Farooque H. Naik recently said he was working on a constitutional package that will create balance of powers between the president and the prime minister.

Naek on Saturday said that judges would be restored under the Murree Declaration."We have said it earlier and say it again that judges would definitely be restored", he said while talking to reporters at the Supreme Court premises after attending the Pakistan Bar Council meeting.He urged the people to show patience on the issue and trust in the commitment made by the PPP and its allies.He added that a constitutional package would be brought to keep balance of powers between the President and the Prime Minister.He denied the impression that the government is considering to cut down the tenure of the Chief Justice of Pakistan. He hoped that every thing would be done amicably in the interest of the country.Naek said that the Pakistan People's Party and its allies would uphold the supremacy of Constitution and law at any cost.
