Another 6 parliamentarians declared as fake degree holders

HEC declared the BA degrees of another six parliamentarians as fake, Awaz Apni News reported on Friday. Mazhar Hayat of PML-N has also been notified as holder of a fake degree. HEC sources told Awaz Apni News that the Venona State University did not verify Mazhar Hayat’s degree. Also, BA degree of Balochistan’s Senator Nawabzada Muhammad Akbar has been declared as fake by Abdul Latif Bhitai University, while a seminary sanad of a Balochistan MPA Abdul Samad has also been rejected by HEC. Seminary sanads of Two Khyber Pakhtunkhawa assembly members Abdul Qayyum Khan and Syed Javed Hussain have also been cancelled by the Higher Education Commission. Besides, Wali Muhammad’s sanad was also declared as fake.

Jalil Memon dies in Thatta accident

AWAZ APNI THATTA: Jalil Memon, Sindh MPA has died in a roadside accident in Thatta, AWAZ APNI News reported Monday.According to AWAZ APNI News, the vehicle of Abdul Jalil Memon capsized near Pir Patho in Thatta, killing Abdul Jalil and injuring two others.MS of nearby hospital Dr Abbas confirmed the death of MPA Jalil Memon.The report said that accident occurred while they tried to avoid a motorcyclist.His cousin is also seriously injured.

Eid-ul-Fitr being observed with religious enthusiasm

Durrani gives advice for dissolution of NWFP Assembly

CNews PESHAWAR: After withdrawal of the no-confidence motion, the NWFP Chief Minister Akram Khan Durrani Monday gave the governor advice for dissolution of the provincial assembly. Muslim League (Q) MPA Nighat Orakzai this morning in the provincial assembly session announced that the opposition has decided to withdraw the no confidence motion against chief minister. Some members of the opposition opposed the withdrawal of the move against the chief minister but agreed to the decision on the advice of Speaker Bakht Jehan Khan. Mian Nisar Gul, an MPA of Tehrik-e-Insaf, presented his resignation from the assembly membership to the speaker. Speaker Bakht Jehan Khan later announced to quit the speaker office and read the text of his resignation letter. 19 MQM workers burnt alive in fire in Karachi

KARACHI: MQM’s 19 workers were burnt in two incidents of fire in firecrackers in the areas of Karachi – Korangi and Lyari. Four of them are in critical condition. MQM leader Altaf Hussain has expressed deep sorrow over these tragic incidents. According to a press release issued from the MQM in Karachi, a great rally was organized by the MQM in Korangi to celebrate the victory of President Pervez Musharaff’s success in the presidential election. During the rally, the party workers were riding in various vehicles when the firecrackers’ material suddenly caught fire and 15 activists of the MQM Korangi Sector, Unit 77 wereburnt alive. They were immediately taken to hospital. In another incident four party workers of Lyari Sector Unit 33, coming from Lyari to 90, were burnt alive. 36 members of NWFP Assembly tender resignations

CNews PESHAWAR: Thirty-six MPAs of Jamaat Islami (JI), Pakistan Muslim League (N) and Awami National Party (ANP) have resigned from the NWFP Assembly today.The NWFP law minister said that the MPAs of Jamiat-e-Ulema-e-Islam (F) would not submit resignations as the Assembly would be dissolved on October 8.At the meeting of the NWEP Assembly held in Peshawar, 24 MPAs from Jamaat Islami, eight from ANP and four from PML (N) submitted their resignations. Speaker NWFP Assembly Bakht Jahan Khan received the resignations of the JI members from Provincial Ameer Siraj-ul-Haq while the resignations of PML (N) were submitted by parliamentary leader Anwar Kamal Khan Marwat.The ANP members presented their resignations before the speaker after delivering their speeches and left the house.Two JI members, speaker Bakht Jahan Khan and Raja Faisal Zaman did not resign.After the resignations were submitted, the speaker announced to adjourn the meeting till 10 am on Monday.
