Serial blasts struck Mumbai this evening, less than three years after the 26/11 terrorist attacks of 2008. The three blasts, in sequence, were timed at 6.30 pm, 6.45 pm, and 7 pm IST, and targeted in that order Zaveri Bazaar, Opera House and the Kabutarkhana area of Dadar West. Zaveri Bazaar, centre of the jewelry industry, is adjacent the iconic Mumbadevi temple from which the city derives its name; both Zaveri Bazaar and Kabutarkhana were also targeted in the 1993 serial blasts. Terror has struck Mumbai once again killing at least thirteen people and injuring more than eighty one. Two days after the fifth anniversary of the 7/11 serial bombings, three explosions rocked the Maximum city once again. All the blasts occurred at Mumbai's crowded market places in the peak rush hour. Now, the Ministry of Home Affairs has confirmed a terror plot and said that Improvised Explosive Devices have been used in the blasts. Awaz Apni Mumbai: The office of IBN7 and IBN Lokmat, the Hindi and Marathi news channels of the IBN Network, were attacked in Mumbai by a group of men claiming to be Shiv Sena activists. Journalists were beaten up and their clothes torn by the group. The group damaged property at the office in Mumbai’s Vikrholi area.

Awaz Apni NEW DELHI: India seems to have climbed down on its demand to Pakistan for the handover of 26/11 suspects, as state's External Affairs Minister Pranab Mukherjee said Thursday that Pakistan should convict the suspects if not hand them over."If not hand over to India, Pakistan must try and convict suspects," he said in an interview with an Indian TV channel.But for this, Pranab said, it is necessary that their trials should be carried out in a transparent manner.Meanwhile, the Indian Army Chief General Deepak Kapoor said all options are open, when it comes to the safety of the country. Awaz Apni ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Syed Yousuf Raza Gilani on Tuesday said that India has not given Islamabad any evidence on Mumbai terroist attacks but just information. "All that has been received from India is some information. I say information because these are not evidence," Gilani said while giving a policy statement in the National Assembly. He said the information received on January 5 needs to be carefully examined which has been sent to the Ministry of Interior for necessary inquiry in accordance with the law. When asked by reporters about the Indian Prime Minister’s observation that Pakistan’s agencies could be “involved” in Mumbai terror attacks, he said “I don’t think we want to take a view that we make accusations against certain parties without the usual evidences, proofs.” The US has been pressing for deeper understanding in Pakistan of the roots of the problem of terrorism, he said. “When Americans are killed anywhere, we pursue those people and that is what we are upto in Pakistan.
