In Depth: Why strong Wi-Fi encryption is crucial

CNETAnalysis: WEP isn’t enough Think you’re secure with basic WEP? You’re not. We’re going to demonstrate exactly why you need to tighten up your Wi-Fi security by showing you how easy it is to hack a relatively unprotected network. We’ll give a working demonstration of the weaknesses in your network’s security and how they can be exploited. It’s the best way of creating the incentive to shore up that security by using tougher encryption. In this case, we’re going to crack wide open the WEP security that far too many home users still rely on. Whether this is through a lack of knowledge or the belief that they have no assets worth stealing is neither here nor there. WEP is insecure, as we’ll show you. The Caribbean side were 442 for six at the close and while New Zealand will take some comfort from a good effort in the evening session, West Indies are well in charge. The home side resumed on 145-0 at the Sir Vivian Richards Stadium in North Sound and Gayle and Powell were still unbeaten by lunch, the former having brought up his 14th century with a six off Chris Martin. Gayle’s ton came in his first test innings in 19 months and was the perfect reminder of just what West Indies have been missing during his absence, caused by a row with the regional cricket board. The big-hitting left-hander departed shortly after lunch though when he holed out to Brandon McCullum off Kan...
