Burney demands release of Tariq Azizuddin

CNews Islamabad: The human and civil rights organization Ansar Burney Trust on Saturday demanded the immediate release of kidnapped Pakistani Ambassador Tariq Azizuddin and his staff who have been abducted by extremist elements on the Pak-Afghan border.Burney in his statement said that Azizuddin was kidnapped while serving his nation and it was the duty of people and government to use every resource available to secure their release.Burney also said that Azizuddin, his staff and their families had the full sympathies of the God fearing people of Pakistan.Recently, a video was released by the abductors showing the distraught Azizuddin making an appeal to the Pakistani government and asking for its support in getting his release.Burney said that the video has touched the hearts and minds of the people and everyone in the country wants to see Azizuddin and his staff released immediately - and it was the duty of the government to listen to the wishes of the people and secure their release without delay.The Ansar Burney Trust was willing to play any part they possible could to ensure the safe return of these innocent Pakistanis.He also appealed to the abductors to release Azizuddin and his staff immediately or face the wrath of the 160 million Pakistanis who want to have their fellow brothers return home safe.Meanwhile, the Ansar Burney Trust launched an appeal to anyone with any information on the whereabouts of Azizuddin and his staff to contact the organization immediately. The Trust promised to keep all such calls anonymous and protect the identity of any caller.
