Nazim notifies KWSB and KBCA as CDGK's Groups of Offices

CNews Karachi: Nazim Karachi, Syed Mustafa Kamal has declared Karachi Water and Sewerage Board and Karachi Building Control Authority as Group of offices of City District Government Karachi (CDGK).A notification issued by City Nazim Syed Mustafa Kamal Friday said that in pursuance of Section 35, Part '0' of the First Schedule read with Section 182, Sub-section 3 of Sindh Local Government Ordinance - 2001, the Government of Sindh, Local Government Department vide notification No. SO(L&C)HTP/1-8/KBCAl03, dated 30.04.2004, had already been pleased to establish an additional Group of Offices namely Building Control Group of Offices and Water and Sanitation Group of offices, under Executive District Officers in CDGK.Therefore, the notification said that in pursuance of Section 195 and in exercise of the powers conferred under the Sindh Local Government Ordinance - 2001, the City District Government Karachi direct the Executive District Officers, Building Control Group of Offices and Water and Sanitation Group of Offices, to perform the functions conferred by or under SLGO-2001 and in performance of their respective function shall adhered to and follow such procedure as are enumerated in the Sixth Schedule.It may be mentioned here that City Nazim Syed Mustafa Kamal was the chairman of these two Groups of Offices of City Distriict Government Karachi.However, through a notification of Sindh Government, the Provincial Minister Local Government Agha Siraj Durrani assumed himself as Chairman of Karachi Water and Sewerage Board and Karachi Building Control Authority.The copies of Nazim's notification have also been sent to Chairman NRB Islamabad, Chief Secretary Sindh, Principal Secretaries to Governor and Chief Minister, ACS (Dvlp) P&D, all Administrative Ssecretaries, DCO Karachi, all EDOs, all Town Nazims and DG Katchi Abadies Karachi.
