MQM will join federal cabinet soon: PM

CNews KARACHI: Prime Minister Syed Yousuf Raza Gilani said Friday the restoration of deposed judges will be decided by the parliament, vowing that they will be reinstated but refused to set a deadline for the purpose.Talking to the newsmen at Jinnah International Airport after his arrival in Karachi, he ensured the masses that the deposed chief justice Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry will be restored, terming him ‘the imam of the judges’.Claiming credit of freeing deposed judges from house-arrests and paying them salaries, the PM said that he had spent three nights under police custody and had bore house-arrest during lawyers’ movement on judiciary restoration.Declaring Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) an ally of PPP in Sindh government, Gilani hinted at its inclusion in federation, saying that the party will soon be the part of the government in Islamabad as well.He said the government will take measures to counter Talibanization in Karachi if certain evidences of it were provided.Terming the law and order the biggest challenge for the country, he vowed to fight against militants, who according to him, were attacking on security forces and blowing up girls schools, barber and CDs shops in country’s tribal region.Prime Minister is visiting the metropolis in connection with the election campaign of his party’s co-chairman Asif Ali Zardari for next president. PM will attend a dinner tonight hosted by Chief Minister Sindh in his honour.All the Senators, MNAs and MPAs from different political parties and groups of the province are invited in the dinner including the members of the opposition.
