PM calls for discipline, unity during Ramazan

CNews ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Syed Yousuf Raza Gilani on Monday urged the nation to inculcate discipline and unity in its ranks to combat, extremism, lawlessness, injustice and sectarianism in the country. In a message on the occasion of Ramazan-ul-Mubarak, the Prime Minister said these traits in Pakistani nation will foil the designs of evil forces and help shape the society according to the teachings of Islam where human values are held supreme. He said this sacred month carries un-countable blessings of Allah Almighty. “A true fast is the one which saves the soul of a person from Allah Almighty’s disobedience, tramples all the evil desires and makes him subservient to God’s will,” he said in the message. Prime Minister Gilani said it should be ingrained in our minds that fasting is not just a very important act of worship but also the most important means of getting patience and knowing the true spirit of sacrifice. He called for making Pakistan a true Islamic welfare state according to the teaching of the Quran and Prophet Muhammad (Peace Be Upon Him). “Our words and deeds should be in line with the teachings of Islam. We should strive for a society where everyone is aware of their rights and responsibilities,” he added. The Prime Minister said that this is the only righteous path that will lead us to success here and in the life hereafter. He prayed to Allah Almighty to shower His blessings on Pakistan and its people during the holy month of Ramazan.
