LONDON: Pakistan Muslim League (PML-N) chief Mian Nawaz Sharif said he cherishes the free media as much as he likes independent judiciary in the country, Geo News reported Saturday.
In his statement issued here, the PML-N chief urged his party leaders to take up such steps as could guarantee the freedom of press, so that unity and solidarity among the democratic forces of the society could be created and a way forward could be forged with hands in hands in cleansing the society of corruption.
The PML-N chief added everybody would have to develop fortitude to put up with the positive criticism.
“I will spearhead resistance and struggle against anyone—whether ours or anyone else—who considers restricting the media,’ he stressed saying the tradition to buttress your opinion with cogent argument not with force, should be given a boost.
