CNews RAWALPINDI: Former servicemen have demanded President Musharraf to vacate the Army House and also backed the lawyers’ movement for restoration of the judiciary. A meeting of the Ex-Servicemen Society here on Saturday discussed removal of President Musharraf from his office, restoration of the free judiciary and establishment of an independent election commission. Lt. Gen. (Rtd) Hameed Gul, Asad Durrani, Jamshed Gulzar Kayani, Taj Abbasi and other retired officers attended the meeting.Addressing a press conference after the meeting former ISI chief Asad Durrani demanded restoration of the Nov. 2 judiciary.Criticizing the president he expressed solidarity with the lawyers’ movement. He also demanded trial and impeachment of President Musharraf.He said the ex-servicemen would resist if the president invoked Article 58-2-B. He also demanded democratic control of the armed forces.
