Shab-e-Barat to be observed with religious fervour

CNews KARACHI: Shab-e-Barat, the night of reverence and fervour, will be celebrated with religious zeal tonight. Muslims will offer special prayers to seek forgiveness for their sins and Allah’s blessings on the occasion to achieve success in their lives and the hereafter. Mosques have been decorated and illuminated for the occasion. Special prayers will also be offered for the integrity of Pakistan and solidarity of Muslims worldwide. People will visit graveyards in the early morning to pray for the souls of the deceased. In the Arabic language, however, the day is known as Lailatul Bara’at, meaning the night of emancipation. Shab-e-Barat is observed 15 days before the beginning of Ramazan. Shabaan is the eighth month of the Hijri calendar and falls between the two sacred months of Rajab and Ramazan.

Seven blasts in Indian IT city of Bangalore

CNews BANGALORE, India - Seven low-intensity bombs exploded across the Indian IT city of Bangalore on Friday, killing one person and wounding at least 15, police said. "In all these cases they have created the blast using timer devices," Bangalore Commissioner of Police Shankar Bidri told reporters at the site of one of the blasts. "Explosives have also been used, in quantity equal to one or two grenades." Bangalore hosts the bulk of India's IT and outsourcing business and is home to more than 1,500 top firms, including offices of large global firms such as Microsoft, Intel Corp and IBM. M. R. Pujar, additional police commissioner for Bangalore said "crude explosives" had been used. "There were seven low-intensity explosions," he told Reuters. "Some of them were in crowded areas. Ummah faces grave challenges: Mufti-e-Azam

CNews MAKKA MUKARAMA: The Mufti-e-Azam Shaikh Abdul Aziz bin Abdullah said that Ummah is facing serious challenges.During his sermon(Khutba) from Masjid -e-Nimra to the Haj pilgrims, the Imam-e-Ka'aba emphasised on forging unity in ranks of the ummah.He said the common enemy of the Muslims is conspiring and fuelling disunity among the ummah to weaken them. The Imam said Muslims the world over wrongly being labelled as terrorists and are being subjugated and terrorised and their rights usurped. He advised the muslim governments to treat their people sincerely and with justice. He said the wealth of the Muslim countries is the trust of the Muslims of other countries in distress. He asked the preachers to execute their work with seriousness, maturity and engage the youth positively.He asked the Muslim governments for tailoring the economic system in accordance with the teachings of Islam and to abolish interest.
