CNews PESHAWAR: Over 100 factories of Peshawar Industrial Estate have been closed here as The Sui Northern Gas Pipeline Limited (SNGPL) has stopped providing gas to CNG stations to ensure its supply to domestic consumers. The Sui Northern Gas Pipeline Limited took the said decision after the go-ahead sognal from the caretaker government. He said that under a plan of gradual suspension, the SNGPL stopped supply to a couple of CNG stations in Hayatabad on Thursday.

Importers told CNews News that due to high price of crude oil in international market, consumption of bio diesel continuously increasing. "The two parties have agreed that each side submit its demands for gas price revision to the other side every three years, taking into account the situation on the international market," said a statement from the National Society for Gas Exports from Iran. The two countries have also agreed on other terms, particularly dealing with "situations of force majeure and the law governing the agreement." According to the statement quoted by the news agency, the Indian side -- opposed to a price review system -- may take part in future talks. Late in September, Hojatollah Ganimifard, Iran's deputy minister in charge of the project said Iran and Pakistan had reached an agreement, in the absence of India, on the pipeline. CNews KARACHI: Number of vehicles running at CNG all over the country has become 1,080,000 which is 116 per cent more compared to June 2004. According to the report, an increase in the number of CNG stations in the country has also been recorded and this number with a 172 per cent increase has become 1,488. In June 2004, the number of vehicles running at CNG throughout the country was 500,000 while the price of petrol was Rs.40 per litre. During these three years, gas production in the country increased by 188 MMCFD. According to the Pakistan Petroleum Information Service, production of gas increased by 566 billion cubic feet from December 2006 to June 2007 and has reached 32.3 trillion cubic feet. The analysts said that the reason of the vehicles’ change over to CNG is the continuous increase in the prices of petrol and diesel since 2004.

ISLAMABAD: The Oil & Gas Regulatory Authority (OGRA) has decided to maintain the prices of petroleum products for the next 15 days.According to the statement issued by OGRA, there would be no change in the prices of the petroleum products for further 15 days.As per OGRA, motor spirit super petrol would be sold at Rs.53.70 per litre and HOBC at Rs.64.88 per litre. Kerosene oil will be sold at Rs.35.23 per litre whereas the price of light diesel will be continued at Rs.32.57 per litre.According to the OGRA spokesman, the government is providing subsidy of Rs.5.66 per litre on kerosene oil and Rs.6.69 per litre on light diesel.
