HYDERABAD: Former Pakistan captain Shoaib Malik, who got married to Indian tennis star Sania Mirza this week, moved the Indian High Court on Thursday for return of his passport. The counsel for Malik requested the judge for hearing on the application but the judge said it can be heard on Friday and posted the matter accordingly. Malik’s passport is in the possession of a local court. Hyderabad Deccan police had taken away Malik’s passport on April 5 and had asked him not to leave the country after a case was registered against him over a complaint from Ayesha Siddiqui who claimed to be Malik’s first wife. KARACHI: Former Pakistan captain Shoaib Malik has sent a notice to the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) seeking clarification on the Board’s decision to slap him with a one-year ban and a penalty of Rs2 million. A senior PCB official confirmed on Wednesday that the Board has received the notice from Malik’s lawyer, adding that the PCB will respond to the notice soon. “We will respond to Shoaib Malik’s notice soon in which he has sought justification over his punishment,” said PCB media director Nadeem Sarwar. Sarwar made it clear that Malik hasn’t appealed against the punishment so far. “We are yet to receive a formal appeal from Malik.
