Jalil Memon dies in Thatta accident

AWAZ APNI THATTA: Jalil Memon, Sindh MPA has died in a roadside accident in Thatta, AWAZ APNI News reported Monday.According to AWAZ APNI News, the vehicle of Abdul Jalil Memon capsized near Pir Patho in Thatta, killing Abdul Jalil and injuring two others.MS of nearby hospital Dr Abbas confirmed the death of MPA Jalil Memon.The report said that accident occurred while they tried to avoid a motorcyclist.His cousin is also seriously injured.

Him and his family have strong affiliations with the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP). He also remained as the General Secretary of the PPP in district Thatta. In 2001 local government elections, he was elected as Nazim, Union Council II, Thatta. He was elected as a Member of Provincial Assembly (MPA) of Sindh on PPP’s platform in the General Elections held on February 18, 2008. He was later chosen as a member of Sindh Cabinet with the portfolio of Minster for Cooperatives (Department of Cooperative Societies)

Quake death toll rises to 215

CNews QUETTA: The death toll in Balochistan earthquake has reached to 215, while hundreds have been reported wounded. More quake tremors hit Balochistan and Sindh areas today’s evening which according to Met Department DG were not sheer aftershocks, as the severity of these shocks was more than the morning tremors. The most hit areas include District Ziarat, Pishin and Fort Abdullah, where large number of houses collapsed. The U.S. Geological Survey reports the quake had a preliminary magnitude of 6.4. It was centered about 400 miles southwest of the capital, Islamabad. At least 50 people were injured in Quetta; while, many mud houses collapsed. An operation room headed by AIG Mujahid Awais has been established to provide relief to the earthquake victims. The administration has initiated relief and rescue operations and emergency has been declared in hospitals. Coalition govt most likely in centre and three provinces

CNews ISLAMABAD: In the backdrop of the election results thus far, no party could obtain clear majority and the alliance governments in centre and three provinces seem imminent, while the Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) has attained the position of forming its own government.Unofficial and provisional results showed that PPP has achieved the edge by obtaining maximum number of national assembly seats totaling thus far 88.
