AMagazine KARACHI: City District Nazim Syed Mustafa Kamal Thursday said that an First Information Report (FIR) has been lodged at Zaman Town Police Station against those responsible for the unfortunate incident in which an oil pipeline was burst in Korangi area resulting in the gushing out of crude oil in the surroundings.The City government started relief and rescue work in the area soon after the incident and the situation was gradually returning to normalcy, he said. Mustafa Kamal said the incident took place while cutting of newly constructed Road-16,000 in Korangi without permission by the SSGC workers. The oil spillage affected about 2 to 3 km area. He said road was being cut without permission from the CDGK or town administration for which an FIR has already been registered with the police concerned.The City nazim called for action against those involved in the incident and said that people within a radius of 2-2.5 km have been affected due to this incident. CNews Karachi: Nazim Karachi Syed Mustafa Kamal has said that despite of withholding development funds by federal and provincial governments, city government will complete four mega development projects costing Rs1.75 billion in Karachi before the holy month of Ramadan.He expressed these views while talking to media representatives during an inspection of the ongoing development projects on Tuesday night.He said that the Haq Parast leadership will fulfill its duty of public service. CNews KARACHI: The government of Sindh Saturday issued notification regarding the handing of Karachi Water and Sewerage Board (KWSB) to the City District Government of Karachi (CDGK).It should be mentioned that Sindh government took over KWSB two months ago on April 25, 2008, after which the differences appeared between the city government of Karachi and the government of Sindh. After taking over, Sindh government appointed the provincial minister for Local Bodies as its chairman.According to sources, Sindh Chief Minister Syed Qaim Ali Shah sent to the chief secretary a summary regarding handing the KWSB to the city government.The Local Government Katchi Abadi also issued notice from Special Development Department, according to which City Nazim Mustafa Kamal would be the Chairman of the water board and MPA Haji Munawwar Abbasi its Vice Chairman.The board will comprise 15 members. According to sources, transfers of officers are expected on large scale in the board.
