Two blasts in Lahore market; 2 die

Awaz Apni LAHORE: Twin blasts occurred in Moon Market of the metropolis city here Monday, leaving two dead and 25 people injured in the tragic incident, Cnews World reported.The channel footage shows several shops of the market caught fire after the blasts. The Moon Market is a busy commercial area of the metropolitan city.The blasts took place near Dubai Choak in Allama Iqbal Town.Initial reports said two people were injured in duo blasts, but nothing is so far clear about nature of the blast or casualties in the incident.Rescue teams of 1122 and Edhi immediately arrived at the blast scene and provided medical aid to those injured.Fire fighters are making hectic efforts to tackle the fierce blaze.Several vehicles parked in the commercial area also damaged and caught fire. Karachi: Building collapse kills 10, eight laid to rest

CNews KARACHI: Four of a same family members along with four others were laid to rest amid 10 that were left dead as a building collapsed at the Buldia Town locality here in Karachi on Sunday. The three-storey building collapsed early on the Sunday morning, which left 10 people dead and many others injured who were shifted to hospitals. The city district workers, fire brigade crew and other authorities had called for heavy machinery for excavation. Many Chhipa and Edhi welfare ambulances reached the area and helped making efforts in rescue. Rescue workers had recovered six bodies from the rubble while 4 others succumbed to injuries in hospital. According to hospital sources, the incident claimed 10 lives including Shan aged 20, Shehzada aged 15, Haris aged 2, Rizwana aged 20, Mah Gul aged 70 and Ghaffar aged 22. Death toll in Karachi building collapse mounts to 6

CNews KARACHI: Six persons have died, many others have been wounded and several still trapped under debris as two-storey building collapsed in the Buldia Town locality here in Karachi on Sunday. The authorities have called for heavy machinery for excavation. Many still are under debris, as the building, entirely destroyed, is reported to be a residential one.Plenty of Chhipa and Edhi welfare ambulances have reached on the spot along with several volunteer local men whereas the rescue work has gone underway.Rescue workers had dug out a poor dead body and six others injured out of them two succumbed to wounds on the way to hospital. Plenty are feared dead. According to hospital sources the tragedy killed six including twenty-year-Shan, fifteen-year-Behram, two-year-Haris, twenty-year-Subhana and seventeen-year-Mahgul.The wounded include Zahid Ullah, Sawab Gul, Gul Zaib, Shafique, Tehseen, Shehnaz Begam, Sarfaraz, Saif Ullah, Qadir and other.

At least six killed in a house collapse

CNews KARACHI: At-least six killed and several others were injured as a three-story building collapsed in Sawat colony in Baldia Town here late Saturday night. According to CNews correspondent, a Three-storey house in Sawat Colony of Baldia Town crumples, killing at least three persons while several others were injured, rescue workers of Edhi and Chippa reaches at the site. Correspondent further informed that residents of the house were still trapped under the rubble as there are almost more than 40 people were living in the house. Rescue works underway but owing to congested street rescue works were hampered while heavy machineries were also called for rescue works. Whereas on the directive of City Nazim Mustafa Kamal, workers of Municipal Services reached the site and started helping in rescue works, city nazim is personally looking after the rescue works. Reasons of the collapse were still unknown but according to locals it might be because of sub standard building material.
