Country presenting picture of ‘a failed state’: Nawaz

President Musharraf has no option of 58-2(b): Mushahid

CNews ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Muslim League-Q Secretary General, Mushahid Hussain has said that President Musharraf has only two options—first, he should face the impeachment or resign and go home. Mushahid Hussain said that if the President brings into play 58-2(b), then the people, establishment and the political forces would not support him. He said that the President had been a commando and he would not get afraid instead he would dig in and fight and whatever decision comes to the fore should be accepted. Muslim League-Q Secretary General said that the Army should be kept away from the impeachment matter and it should be solved constitutionally.

Face impeachment or resign, Shujaat asks Musharraf

CNews ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Muslim League-Q President, Chaudhry Shujaat Hussain has held an important meeting with President Musharraf here. In the meeting, Shujaat suggested that the President should face impeachment democratically. Sources told CNews correspondent Arshad Wahid Chaudhry that Chaudhry Shujat called on President Pervez Musharraf in President’s Camp Office. During meeting PML-Q President said the country couldn’t afford confrontation any more. He also told Musharraf that if the President would face impeachment democratically, then the PML-Q would stand by him. However, Chaudhry Shujaat made it clear that if the President tries to use 58-2(b), then he will have no support from PML-Q. Shujaat suggested Musharraf that he should step down before the start of the impeachment proceedings and the president should avail the opportunity to make an honorable exit.

Political unrest: Ruling coalition for president’s impeachment
