Ebad expresses grief over loss of precious lives in fire

Awaz Apni KARACHI: Sindh Governor, Dr Ishrat-ul-Ebad Khan has expressed his profound grief over the fire incident in North Karachi and ordered the concerned authorities to carry out an inquiry into the same. Condoling and sympathizing with the heirs of victims, the Governor assured all possible financial help of the government. Earlier in receipt of report of the incident, the governor directed the concerned authorities for immediate relief and said that injured be provided treatment at government expenses.

Altaf saddened by deaths in Karachi fire

Awaz Apni LONDON: MQM Chief Altaf Hussain said that he was deeply touched and grieved over the deaths of innocent people in the unfortunate incident of fire in Karachi slum area that killed as many as 38 people.In his statement from London, he prayed for the departed souls to remain in peace and harmony always. Altaf condoled the deaths of burnt people.

Intense fire kills scores in North Karachi

Awaz Apni KARACHI: A fire broke out in the Sector Five area of North Karachi, engulfing dozens of huts and cabins. Up to 38 people are feared dead and many more injured. According to reports, fire fighters reached the scene and controlled the blaze. However, the intensity and speed with which the fire spread resulted in many casualties. Paramedics and rescue workers are carrying out relief operations in the area. The cause of the fire could not immediately be determined. According to witnesses, the occupants of the huts were fast asleep when the fire broke out and rapidly engulfed the area. Many of the dead and injured were transferred to the Abbassi Shaheed Hospital in Karachi.

CM, Governor orders probe in Karachi fire

Awaz Apni KARACHI: Chief Minister Sindh Syed Qaim Ali Shah and Governor Dr. Israth-ul-Ibad Khan, taking strict notice of the fire incident in Karachi, have ordered the Sindh government authorities to investigate the cause of fire outbreak in slum in Karachi.CM said that the loss of lives is irreparable and he was grieved over the deaths of many poor people including children and women. He ordered the Sindh government authorities to file report on the fire incident soon.Governor Sindh Dr. Ishrat-ul-Ibad Khan said that he was mourned over the deaths of innocent people and added that if the incident were a criminal act so the culprits should be brought to book.

Minors amid 38 burnt to death in Karachi inferno

Awaz Apni KARACHI: At least thirty-eight people including many minor children and ladies were burnt to death as blazes completely engulfed many shelties in North Karachi sector five, Chiipa sources said. 12 fire tenders reached on the scene and started taming the fire meanwhile, many other people were seriously burnt who were shifted to hospital, sources added.No cause of fire eruption, in huts made of sticks, could be reported. Several people remained caught in the fire for long time. Eidhi sources added that over two dozens completely burnt dead bodies including 15 children and women, were shifted to different hospitals. Burn in Huts kills 38 in North Karachi 5L

Awaz Apni Karachi: At least 38 persons were killed while two others were injured, due to leakage of wire or ( Angatti ) in the huts in North Karachi 5L at about 12:00 AM here on Friday night. According to Rescue Emergency Officer, the 15 team received call and responded within a minutes and started rescue operation. Bodies of 38 killed name are not identified. Injured peoples are admit in Abbasi Shaheed Hospital. Police and Rangers are covered all the Area. Power, water famine pile miseries on Karachiites

Man’s suicide after humiliation by bank recovery staff, inquiry ordered

CNews ISLAMABAD: Minister for Finance Muhammad Ishaq Dar told the Senate on Monday that list of bigwigs whose loans were written off during last five years would be presented in both Houses of the Parliament within 30 days.Replying to a point of order about self-immolation by a man in Karachi following humiliation of his mother and sister by goons hired by the bank for recovery of their outstanding dues, the Prime Minister said this way of recovery of bank loans was unlawful and banks would have to follow law of the land for the recovery of loans.
