Awaz Apni: I’m here to praise Apple again. Sorry. I have to do it. It’s not in my contract nor am I paid to do it – imagine if we were! We’d be rich! – but after manhandling the iPhone 6S Plus it’s abundantly clear that Apple has discovered another breakthrough. And they are surprisingly nonchalant about it. Apple’s first interface breakthrough happened when it unleashed real multitouch on the world. Until the original iPhone, screens reacted to one single point and often required a stylus to operate. There were exceptions, but even after the iPhone launched competitors couldn’t keep up and had to release resistive screen phones until they could join in the multi-touch game. This next interface trick is far more subtle. By sensing pressure applied on the surface of the Apple Watch, the new MacBook trackpad, and the new iPhones, Apple has added a new layer to the touchscreen experience. In short, they have gone deep, allowing us to move past surfaces and into more dyn...

We don’t expect everyone to understand why an iPad mini might be needed, especially when the original 10-inch Apple tablet fits in perfectly with your smartphone and other gadgets. The fact is there’s a market for the iPad mini, and when Apple make the announcement in the coming days it will be met with an army of people lining up to purchase the 7-inch option, although this might not include some Android users with large screen phones like the Galaxy Note 2. Earlier today we reported about iPad mini accessories and how secret boxes were turning up at a certain electronics retailer, then shortly after that we published some predictions for the iPad mini invites and when we’d likely see them if we’re to believe the rumored date for October’s media event. Within the last few hours we also picked up on some leaked iPad mini battery pictures, which are also hinting towards the expected battery life for the iPad mini. If the 4490mAh Li-ion Polymer battery seen in the pictures ...

More and more tablet PCs are coming onto the market already running the Android 3.0 (and 3.1) Honeycomb operating system these days, including the recently released Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1, the 10.1-inch Toshiba Thrive, which as we mentioned in a previous article will be available in 8GB, 16GB and 32GB models, and the smaller 7-inch Acer Iconia Tab A100. If you don’t mind a tablet running Android 2.3 Gingerbread OS however, then you may just like E-Fun’s newly launched Nextbook Premium 7 tablet. The Nextbook Premium 7 – which is the first model in the company’s Nextbook Premium line – comes with new pre-loaded software including ASTRO File Manager, SlideME Application Manager, OfficeSuite Viewer and the Kobo eBook Store App. The OfficeSuite Viewer gives Nextbook Premium 7 owners access to important presentations and documents on the go, enabling them to open native DOCX, TXT, DOC, XLS, XLSX, PPT, CSV, PPTX, PPS, PPSX and PDF files and attachments. Meanwhile, the ASTRO File Manager ma...

We have reason to believe there will be an imminent release of new 2011 Apple Mac’s, these will include the Mac Pro and the Mac Mini. Like the MacBook Air, Apple seems to be waiting until OS X Lion is ready to be rolled out. The earliest we expect to see the refreshed Mac’s will be in August, and will come with a number of updates. Just two of these updates will include new Sandy Bridge processors and Thunderbolt. With just these two and that new Lion OS we can expect performance enhancements. CNet’s Brian Tong is unable to offer any other details on specs or a precise release date, but one would expect increased graphics and hopefully more RAM as standard. However, the biggest wish is for Apple to stick with their aggressive pricing. On Tong’s Twitter page there seems to be some confusion with this, as some are saying that there will not be a new Mac Pro update, as there was one in February. Well they need to do their homework a little, as this is not true. Now the last Mac Pro refr...
