Awaz Apni KARACHI: The Muttahida Qaumi Movement will observe a three-day mourning against the killing of party’s MPA Raza Haider in Karachi. Haider was killed in a drive-by shooting in North Nazimabad area of Karachi on Monday evening. A guard and an MQM activist were also killed in the ambush. In a statement issued from London, MQM chief Altaf Hussain termed as ‘shocking’ the assassination of party’s lawmaker Raza Haider. Hussain said his heart was shedding tears of blood at the martyrdom of Raza Haider. He also expressed grief over death of Haider’s guard and a party’s activist in the ambush. Hussain also paid a tribute to the martyred leaders, calling him a true activist, who stood by the part in every thick and thin.

Awaz Apni KARACHI: Member of the Sindh Assembly belonging to Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM), Raza Haider, was gunned down along with his guard and a party’s activist in Karachi on Monday. According to reports, two unidentified gunmen opened indiscriminate fire at Raza Haider when he was preparing to attend a funeral prayer at Jamia Masjid of Nazimabad Block-2. He was rushed to the Abbasi Shaheed Hospital, where he died of wounds. In addition, Haider’s gunman Tariq Khan and a 16-year-old party’s activist were also killed in the armed attack. Interior Minister Rehman Malik condemned the incident, urging the MQM to maintain calm. He termed the targeted killings a plot to destabilize the country. He said that Sipah Sahaba Pakistan (SSP) could also be involved in the killing because the deceased was receiving threats from the banned sectarian outfit.
