Awaz Apni HYDERABAD: A truck carrying chemicals accidentally exploded on Monday at Hala Naka, Hyderabad after pressure built up in its storage tank Awaz Apni reported Tuesday. The incident left 18 dead and 54 others injured. Thirteen of the 54 injured have been discharged from the hospital after being given first aid. Six have been admitted to the ICU ward and their condition is said to be critical. The truck driver Qasim and cleaner Nadeema are admitted in the hospital. The police have recorded their statements. No case has been filed so far. DPO Hyderabad Javed Alam told Awaz Apni that a case will be filed after a complete report from the Bomb Disposal Unit is obtained. The owner of the destroyed truck and the cleaner will also be interrogated. They said that the incident occurred due to recklessness.
