CNews Karachi: Nazim Karachi Syed Mustafa Kamal has said that despite of withholding development funds by federal and provincial governments, city government will complete four mega development projects costing Rs1.75 billion in Karachi before the holy month of Ramadan.He expressed these views while talking to media representatives during an inspection of the ongoing development projects on Tuesday night.He said that the Haq Parast leadership will fulfill its duty of public service. All such firms will be blacklisted which would not complete the project on time.Nazim Karachi said that the funds for Gulshan and Nagan Chowrangi flyover had already been approved but the federal and provincial governments withheld them.“We could also stop work on these development projects but we believed in serving the citizens,” he added.He said that in case of delay the cost of these projects have risen and therefore the CDGK carried on these by curtailment of funds for medical, petrol and other non dev...

CNews KARACHI: Pakistan’s renowned comedian of silver screen in the sixties and the seventies, Lehri is waiting in a local hospital for getting attention of the government officials. Safirullah, known as Lehri is being treated at the intensive care unit of a hospital in Gulshan-e-Iqbal, Karachi for a few days. Doctors say that film artist Lehri was admitted to hospital due to suffering from respiratory problem and pneumonia. However, his condition is much better now but he is lying unconscious because of weakness. Lehri’s son-in-law said that the great film artist of his time is presently facing financial problems. He said that funds have been announced by the government time and again but now its silence on this matter is disappointing. On the other side, according to sources, hospital management is demanding to deposit Rs.50,000 on account of Lehri’s medical treatment.
