CNews RAWALPINDI: Rawalpindi Accountability Court adjourned hearing of three corruption cases against Muslim League-N leaders Nawaz Sharif and Shahbaz Sharif till May 22.Accountability Court-IV of Rawalpindi, earlier heard Hudaibiya Paper Mills, Ittifaq Foundries references against Nawaz Sharif, Shahbaz Sharif and other family members.Deputy Prosecutor General of National Accountability Bureau Zulfiqar Bhutta requested the court for two weeks’ break for the hearing, as NAB has been under pressure of work to settle the cases under the National Reconciliation Ordinance. CNews RAWALPINDI: Accountability court on Friday sought comments of National Accountability Bureau following petitions filed by Benazir Bhutto, Asif Ali Zardari and others seeking acquittal in different cases of corruption and bad practices on the basis of recently promulgated National Reconciliation Ordinance (NRO). Accountability Court No-1 Judge Mohammad Hanif Khan in today’s hearing directed NAB to submit reply and adjourned hearing till October 17. Yesterday, Farooq Naek, counsel for Benazir Bhutto and Asif Ali Zardari, filed a petition in the Accountability Court Rawalpindi for withdrawal of SGS/Cotecna and ARY references against his clients.

CNews ISLAMABAD: President General Pervez Musharraf has urged the self-exiled former Prime Minister and PPP Chairperson Benazir Bhutto once again to delay her return to Pakistan "I have sent messages that she should delay her return," the Musharraf said in an interview with a British TV channel. And asked if he would try to prevent her return if she ignored his advice, he said: "No, that is not the case, but I would urge her not to." Benazir Bhutto now feels it is safe to return because Gen Musharraf has passed a so-called National Reconciliation Ordinance dropping corruption charges against her and other politicians. CNews ISLAMABAD: Supreme Court on Friday stayed implementation of lower courts decisions regarding National Reconciliation Ordinance (NRO) and said that these decisions would not be implemented till the verdict of apex court. The court has issued notices to the parties. A four member Supreme Court bench, headed by Chief Justice Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry taking up five petitions challenging the National Reconciliation Ordinance (NRO) 2007. Other members of the bench include Justice Sardar Muhammad Raza Khan, Justice Muhammad Nawaz Abbasi and Justice Mian Shakirullah Jan. In his remarks at the opening of hearing, Chief Justice Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry said that this is an important case and attorney general should appoint assistant for court. The apex court directed to stop implementation on different clauses of NBR.
