HUNZA: The administration has asked for three more days as the deadline to widening the Ataabad Lake spillway expired, said sources Tuesday. The affectees of Shishkit and Gilmat had given the administration the deadline of June 29, 2010 but the Force Commander Gilgit-Baltistan General Javed Bajwa asked for three more days for the widening of Ataabad Lake spillway. “Negotiations will be held with the affectees of Shishkit and Gilmat with the consultation of Frontier Works Organization ,” said Force Commander Gilgit Baltistan. Today, the water outflow from Ataabad Lake was recorded at 15,876 cusecs while the water level has risen up to 2 inches during the last 12 hours. It is to be noted that a protest was held on June 18 and 19 in Tehsil Gojal and Ali Abad demanding the spillway to be widened.
