Prayers continue for Malala’s recovery

Awaz Apni PESHAWAR: The nation continues to pray for the recovery of Malala Yousafzai, the 14 year old student shot by the Taliban in Swat. Prayers were held in Churches and other areas across Peshawar. Residents of the city prayed for the speedy recovery of Malala Yousafzai. In Lahore, women and children lit candles in the Cathedral Church and expressed solidarity with Malala. While speaking to CNewsworld , children hoped that Malala’s health would improve and she would continue with her mission for an education. A protest was held in Karachi by members of the civil society. The protest and walk which was held at ‘Do Talwar’ was attended by doctors, teachers and other professionals. A large number of women and children were also in attendance. Protestors were of the view that the attack on Malala was an attack on every daughter of the nation.

Islamabad suicide attacks master mind arrested

Awaz Apni ISLAMABAD: The master mind of suicide attacks on World Food Program and Rescue 15 offices has been arrested.In a media briefing, Federal Police IG said Jamsheed alias Tahir has belonged to Mulla Rahim group and Ghazi force of Orakzai Agency and also fought in Swat. A suicide jacked recovered from Jamsheed was also presented in the briefing. IG said Jamsheed used Muhammad alias Ilyas and Haroon as suicide bombers to attack World Food Program and Rescue 15 offices. Police have also got key clues about the elements involved in firing incidents on military officials in Islamabad, he added.

Pak army called in to eliminate terrorists: PM

CNews RAWALPINDI: On the third day of anti‑militant operation being carried out jointly by FC and Pakistan Army, more areas in Buner have been got evacuated from the militants while life is returning to normalcy in Deer, top army spokesman said here Thursday.Addressing a media conference, Director General ISPR Major General Athar Abbas said a large number of militants have been killed during the operation in Buner as so far 14 militants have been reported killed.He said that four of the two explosive laden vehicles approaching towards troops were targeted and destroyed in Deer while the other two fled from the scene causing no damage to the troops. Earthquake tremors in various areas of country

Awaz Apni ISLAMABAD: A strong earthquake shook various areas in Pakistan early Monday, sending people running from their homes.However, there were no immediate reports of any casualties or major damage.The cities jolted were Islamabad, Swat, Chitral, Gilgit, Bonair, Peshawar,Abbotabad, Kohat, Lahore, Faisalabad, Gujranwala, Mirpur, Batgram, Hangu, Kurk and Azad Kashmir.The epic centre of the earthquake was Hindu Kush mountain range, according to the Meotrological department.The Met Office said that the intensity of the tremors was registered 5.7 on Richter scale.According to the US Geological Survey, the earthquake shockwaves were felt at 4-13 in the early morning on Monday.

However, there were no immediate reports of any casualties or damage.

15 militants killed, six injured in Swat

CNews PESHAWAR: At least 15 militants were killed and six others injured in three separate incidents in Tehsils Charbagh, Matta and Khwazakhela of Swat district on Monday.According to media centre, the first incident occurred at Mangal Thaan in Charbagh Tehsil when security forces backed by gunship helicopters, targeted a vehicle of militants. Resultantly, 11 militants were killed on the spot. The other incident was reported at Namal area of Tehsil Matta in which two militants were killed and as many injured in a clash with security forces. Likewise, the security officials said two militants were killed and four others injured in Khawazakhela Tehsil.

Pakistan's sovereignty to be defended at all cost: COAS

Tehreek-e-Taliban accepts responsibility for Wah blasts

US 'reserves judgment' on Pak-Taliban peace deal

NWFP government, local Taliban ratify peace truce

CNews PESHAWAR: NWFP government and local Taliban have agreed to a peace agreement under which “Shariah” laws will be promulgated in Sawat and Malakand districts and security forces will be withdrawn, while the Taliban have agreed to acknowledge the writ of the government. Senior Minister of NWFP Bashir Ahmad Bilour said government and local Taliban have agreed on 15 points. Under the agreement, there would be a ban on display of weapons and training camps of militants would be eliminated. Talking to media, Bilour said Imam Dherai would be turned into an Islamic university and local Taliban would fully corporate with government. Two dead in suicide attack in Saidu Sharif
