Abdul Jalil Memon dies in Thatta accident

AWAZ APNI Thatta: Mr. Abdul Jalil Memon, Minster for Cooperation Department Died in car Accident. Abdul Jalil Memon (born in Karachi, Pakistan September 21, 1970) is an Agriculturist by profession and an active politician from the District of Thatta, Province of Sindh, Pakistan. Him and his family have strong affiliations with the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP). He also remained as the General Secretary of the PPP in district Thatta. In 2001 local government elections, he was elected as Nazim, Union Council II, Thatta. He was elected as a Member of Provincial Assembly (MPA) of Sindh on PPP’s platform in the General Elections held on February 18, 2008. He was later chosen as a member of Sindh Cabinet with the portfolio of Minster for Cooperatives (Department of Cooperative Societies)

Altaf welcomes President Zardari’s views

Awaz Apni LONDON: Commenting on President Zardari’s speech on the occasion of 2nd death anniversary of Benazir Bhutto, Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM)’s Chief Altaf Hussain said views expressed by President Zardari are valuable and MQM welcomes it. In a statement, Altaf Hussain said people of Pakistan, whether belonging to Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) or any other political party, had condemned Benazir Bhutto’s assassination. “Leaders and workers of PPP were emotional today on the occasion of 2nd death anniversary of Benazir Bhutto, and it is natural,” Altaf added. MQM chief said President Zardari pointed out the sacrifice of Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto, Benazir Bhutto and other PPP workers for the people of Pakistan and democracy. He said MQM welcomes President Zardari’s slogan ‘Pakistan khappay’. Altaf further said MQM will always play its role for democratic system and democracy is in favor of the country.

Zardari elected President of Pakistan

CNews ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Peoples Party Co-chairman Asif Ali Zardari has been elected as the 12th President of Islamic Republic of Pakistan with thumping majority. He received 479 electoral votes out of total 702 votes of the Electoral College. His contenders Saeeduz Zaman Siddiqui received 153 votes while Mushahid Hussain Syed got 43 electoral votes. It is worth mentioning here that 352 votes were needed for the election of the President. CNews LAHORE: A joint parliamentary party meeting of Pakistan Peoples Party and Pakistan Muslim League (N) will be held here with Chief Minister of Punjab Mian Shahbaz Sharif in chair. Amin Fahim’s son Jameel-uz-Zaman quits Sindh cabinet

Cnews KARACHI: People’s Party’s senior leader Makhdoom Amin Fahim’s son Makhdoom Jameel-uz-Zaman has tendered resignation from the provincial cabinet. “Makhdoom Jameel-uz-Zaman has sent his resignation to the Chief Minister of Sindh Syed Qaim Ali Shah,” Makhdoom House spokesman Aslam Pirzada told CNews in a telephonic conversation. A reason of the resignation might be Makhdoom Amin Fahim’s differences with the PPP leadership, he said. The sources close to Makhdoom Jameel said the resignation has been faxed to the Chief Minister of Sindh from Dubai. Jameel-uz-Zaman was holding the inter-provincial portfolio in the Sindh cabinet.

CNews ISLAMABAD: The second round of crucial talks between the Muslim League-N Quaid Mian Nawaz Sharif and the People’s Party Co-Chairman Asif Ali Zardari is being held here.Nawaz Sharif, after having finalized consultations with the party leaders at his Murree residence, arrived Zardari House here. Shahbaz asks PPP to restore judges under Muree Declaration

CNews LAHORE: Punjab Chief Minister, Shahbaz Sharif Thursday demanded of Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) to fulfill its promise made in the Murree Declaration and restore the deposed judges. This he said during his meeting with PPP leader Raza Rabbani and Senior Sindh Minister Pir Mazharul Haq here at Chief Minister House. Shahbaz Sharif said the deposed judges should have been restored after the mandate of February 18 but the matter has clearly been shelved. “We still want to resolve the issues amicably since no problem could be solved without independent judiciary,” he said. Raza Rabbani said the PPP has never backed out on the issue of judges restoration and the impeachment of the president. The reservations on the modus operandi will be removed in the meetings of the parties’ leadership.
