CNews PESHAWAR: A rally to observe the Kashmir Solidarity Day was taken out here on Tuesday from Milad Chawk. Azad Jammu Kashmir Muslim Conference NWFP office-bearers, City District Nazim Haji Ghulam Ali and other citizens participated the rally with participants raising slogans to express solidarity with the Kashmiris. The rally demanded the world powers to solve the Kashmir issue in agreement with the UN resolutions. Stringent security measures were taken up on the occasion. The rally routed through Ashraf Road to Naz cinema Road, where a ceremony was organized at the house of a former Kashmiri minister. Speaking on the occasion, the orators paid rich homage to the Kashmiris on their sacrifices and expressed the resolve to always side with Kashmiris in their cause for freedom.

CNews PESHAWAR: District Nazim City District Government Peshawar, Haji Ghulam Ali has under section 144 Cr.P.C. prohibited forthwith writing/distribution of objectionable pamphlets/posters or wall chalking especially on mosques and Imam Bargahs, pillion riding, display/carriage of weapons, printing/circulation of objectionable materials, fanning communal hatred, Afghan refugees entering the city and rumour-mongering. Any persons found violating this order shall be proceeded again under section 188 PPC. This order has come into force forthwith and shall remain in force for 10 days during Muharram-ul-Haram unless modified or withdrawn.

CNews KARACHI: Nazim Karachi, Mustafa Kamal has said that the city life was getting back to normalcy, as Sunday markets have been opened at 11 places.Talking to CNews News, he said that vegetables were supplied from ‘Mandi’ to the different areas in the city on Saturday and about 45 petrol pumps across the city have been made to open up, while the milk supply has been restored to utmost. Wholesale markets have also been made to open and the people were buying their essentials.Mustafa Kamal told that the appeals of the PPP leaders have helped in the restoration of the law and order in the city.

CNews ISLAMABAD: Eid-ul-Fitr was celebrated with religious enthusiasm and fervor across Pakistan yesterday (Sunday). Eid prayers offered at Eidgahs, mosques and open places all over the country. In their sermons, Ulema highlighted the philosophy of Eid and prayed for progress and solidarity of the country and Muslim Ummah.Security was tightened in Islamabad to ensure safety of the citizens. The city was divided in three zones. Major congregations of Eid in federal capital were held at Faisal Masjid and Lal Masjid. Stringent security measures were taken in Karachi, Lahore, Quetta and Peshawar, while special security was arranged around mosques, Eidgahs and Imambargahs in all major cities and towns. Additional security contingents were deployed and ambulances arranged at key places to meet any untoward incident. In Karachi about 1500 Eid congregations were held, the largest gathering was held under the city government at Bagh-e-Jinnah, where Maulana Muhammad Ahmed Salimi led the prayers....

CNews KARACHI: A headless body was found from a flat situated in Boat Basin police limits as the police said that the trader was stabbed to death and unknown persons burned his flat. Initially the DHA fire station was informed of the fire which reached the spot immediately and while pulling their ladders from the balcony side found a headless body. They immediately informed the Boat Basin police, who reached the spot and the DHA started the fire operation. The DHA fire office states that two fire tenders took part in the operation. However, the headless body was not burnt. The police present at the scene said that the deceased was identified as Shabbir Rehman Sapra, a local trader. Interrogation is underway.
