Blast in Central Ashura Procession on M.A. Jinnah road, 22 Killed and 50 Injured

AWAZ APNI KARACHI : At least 22 people were killed and 50 others injured in a bomb explosion at Ashura procession on M A Jinnah road, here on Monday, AWAZ APNI News reported.According to the report, explosion took place near Jama Cloth.Interior Minister Rehman Malik, MQM Chief, Altaf Hussain, City Nazim Mustafa kamal and CCPO Karachi strongly condemned the incident and asked the people to maintain peace.Victims have been taken to Jinnah, Civil and other hospitals where emergency has been imposed.Police and rangers have cordoned off the area.Ambulances and Rescue teams reached the site soon after the incident.

Sindh Provincial Minister dies in road accident

AWAZ APNI THATTA: The Provincial Minister Sindh Jalil Memon died in road accident on Monday.Jaleel Memon's cousin Tahir Memon also died on the spot while three people also injured injured in the road accident.Provincial Minister Jalil Memon was going to Pir Patho from Thatta to his relative for condolence along with his brother and three cousins.The minister's vehicle faced the road accident when it was trying to save a motorcyclist on its way. Jaleel Memon's cousin Tahir Memon died on the spot. Jaleel Memon was brought to Thatta Civil Hospital but he could not survive. The brother and a cousin of Jaleel Memon were also seriously injured in the road accident.Sindh Provincial Minister Abdul Jalil Memon was also the secretary general of the Pakistan People's Party in the district Thatta.

Death toll in Karachi building collapse mounts to 6

CNews KARACHI: Six persons have died, many others have been wounded and several still trapped under debris as two-storey building collapsed in the Buldia Town locality here in Karachi on Sunday. The authorities have called for heavy machinery for excavation. Many still are under debris, as the building, entirely destroyed, is reported to be a residential one.Plenty of Chhipa and Edhi welfare ambulances have reached on the spot along with several volunteer local men whereas the rescue work has gone underway.Rescue workers had dug out a poor dead body and six others injured out of them two succumbed to wounds on the way to hospital. Plenty are feared dead. According to hospital sources the tragedy killed six including twenty-year-Shan, fifteen-year-Behram, two-year-Haris, twenty-year-Subhana and seventeen-year-Mahgul.The wounded include Zahid Ullah, Sawab Gul, Gul Zaib, Shafique, Tehseen, Shehnaz Begam, Sarfaraz, Saif Ullah, Qadir and other.

At least eight killed, scores injured in Karachi clashes

CNews Karachi: Eight people were killed Wednesday in Karachi - including five who were burnt alive in a downtown building - during clashes between two groups of lawyers. The troubles were part of a countrywide protest against the manhandling of Sher Afgan Niazi, a former parliamentary affairs minister, by a crowd of lawyers in Lahore Tuesday evening.In Karachi the violence swept when late Wednesday afternoon two lawyers group clashed at Malir Bar offices over Tuesday's attack.Mobs set dozens of vehicles and some buildings on fire, gutting at least two buildings, including the offices of a bar association in Malir neighbourhood. Five charred bodies were recovered from Tahir Plaza that houses several law offices.Civil Hospital confirmed seven bodies had been brought, including the five completely burnt bodies including a woman. Man killed in Lyari shooting

CNews KARACHI: A man shot dead in Lyari area of Karachi whereas two people inured in different incidents.According to police sources, unknown persons opened fire at a man in Baghdadi area injuring him seriously. He was immediately shifted to Civil Hospital where he was succumbed to injuries.Two persons were injured in firing incidents in Korangi and Tariq Road areas.

Child expires, 16 injured, as building falls down

CNews KARACHI: A two-storeyed building fell down in Bhains Colony area of Karachi killing a child and injuring 16 others on late Friday.The two-storeyed building situated at Landhi Bhains Colony Road-8 all of a sudden came down to earth. In receipt of the news, he police and fire brigade arrived on the spot and rescued 17 people from under the debris with the help of the residents of the area.A five-year old boy succumbed to the injuries and passed away; while other injured people were rushed to a private hospital in Landhi.

Gadani mishap death toll up to 18

CNews KARACHI: The death toll of the picnickers, who drowned in the sea at Gadani has risen to 18 while taking bath at Gadani beach. All the dead bodies have been handed to the respective bereaved families.According to the Gadani police, thousands of Karachiites along with their families arrived here for recreation purpose. Trader killed in Boat Basin

CNews KARACHI: A headless body was found from a flat situated in Boat Basin police limits as the police said that the trader was stabbed to death and unknown persons burned his flat. Initially the DHA fire station was informed of the fire which reached the spot immediately and while pulling their ladders from the balcony side found a headless body. They immediately informed the Boat Basin police, who reached the spot and the DHA started the fire operation. The DHA fire office states that two fire tenders took part in the operation. However, the headless body was not burnt. The police present at the scene said that the deceased was identified as Shabbir Rehman Sapra, a local trader. Interrogation is underway.

Karachi: Two killed in traffic mishap at Hub River Road

KARACHI: Two young men were killed and seven seriously wounded in a traffic accident at Karachi’s Hub River Road on Sunday morning. A speedy truck hit a dumper at Northern Bypass near Saeedabad, while another truck coming behind was also collided with the two vehicles in the crash, police said. Nine persons were seriously wounded in the accident and Edhi Foundation ambulances transported them immediately to the Civil Hospital. Two of the wounded were succumbed to their injuries on the way to the hospital. Six persons provided medical aid at Civil Hospital have been identified as Rajan, Munir Ali, Ghulam Hyder, Muhammad Umar and Ahmed Ali. “Four of the injured are in a critical state,” MLO Civil Hospital said.
