Karachi The Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) has demanded of the government to hold a judicial inquiry into the target killings in Karachi. This was stated by Sindh Minister for Information Technology Raza Haroon while addressing a press conference at Nine Zero on Friday. MQM Coordination Committee member Wasay Jalil was also present on the occasion. Haroon said that if an impartial inquiry was held about the target killings in the city, it would reveal that the people are those who were earlier released from the jails despite their involvement in heinous crimes. Haroon said that due to a major conspiracy hatched by MQM’s opponents and some specific media, the entire blame was being laid on Muttahida. “However, target killings are taking place due to personal differences or land issues. Karachi President Asif Ali Zardari on Friday ordered a survey of all those areas which had been encroached upon, suggesting the authorities to use Google Earth to check the status of encroachments in Goths in Karachi. He said all the encroached areas would be cleared of the encroachers. “We welcome all those who are coming to Karachi, as it is their constitutional right, but we will not tolerate Qabza groups,” he said.
