CNews ISLAMABAD: National Assembly session began here Friday at Parliament House with passing a resolution hailing Pervez Musharraf’s resignation as President.Deputy Speaker Faisal Karim Kundi presided over the session however, the speaker Fehmida Mirza later assumed the seat and read out the resignation of the Pervez Musharraf as President in the house.The speaker announced to accept the resignation of the President in the house, saying that Pervez Musharraf was the first president who resigned according to constitution.At the meantime, Chairman Senate Mohamed Mian Soomro took over as the Acting President.Meanwhile, the Punjab Assembly in its session on Monday also welcomed the announcement by Pervez Musharraf to step down as President by adopting a resolution.
