CNews PESHAWAR: The Awami National Party has announced to support the Co-Chairman of Pakistan People Party Asif Ali Zardari as president of Pakistan. Talking to Cnews News in Peshawar, ANP Provincial President Afrasiyab Khatak said PPP provincial president and senior minister Rahim Dad Khan had met Chief Minister Amir Haider Hoti and requested ANP to support Asif Ali Zardari in presidential election. It was agreed in meeting that ANP would support Zardari presidential election in NWFP Assembly.

CNews RAWALPINDI: Leader of the House in Senate Raza Rabbani Saturday said that Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) unanimously decided to field party Co-Chairman Asif Ali Zardari to contest the presidential election. Addressing a press conference here flanked by various party leaders including Khurshid Shah, Sherry Rehman, he said PPP never deceived the people of Pakistan. CNews ISLAMABAD: A leader of Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) Haider Abbas Rizvi Saturday welcomed PPP's decision to nominate Asif Ali Zardari for the slot of presidentship.     Talking to a CNews, he said, "MQM welcomes PPP decision to nominate Asif Ali Zardari for the slot of presidentship and we are happy that the presidential candidate has been nominated from a smaller province."       Decision to nominate presidential candidate from a smaller province will strengthen democracy, bring political, economic stability and resolve masses' problems, he added.     He said MQM Quaid Altaf Hussain had proposed name of Asif Ali Zardari for the slot of presidentship.     MQM believed that Asif Ali Zardari has handled the issue of impeachment with a political wisdom, he added.     He said the next president should have the ability to take along all political forces with reconciliation, which Asif Ali Zardari possesses.
