ISLAMABAD: The Parliamentary leader of MQM in NA, Dr. Farooq Sattar has vindicated his party’s commitment to its political identity, and announced that MQM always seeks an end to Army’s role in politics.
While talking to journalists outside Election Commission on Thursday he said that there would be no more martial Law, and replying to a question regarding disqualification of President Musharraf for the Presidential post, he said that any decision would be made then and there.
He pointed out that the petition filed against the contesting of President Musharraf has been finalized, today 29th Sep, and his qualification / disqualification would be decided today.
Replying to a question he said that any reaction of MQM in case President Musharraf is disqualified, would be decided by MQM’s coordination committee, and its decision would be binding on all.
He lauded the recent Musharraf-Benazir alliance saying both had joined hands for a “great cause”, and would augur well for Nation.
He said that MQM has a definite stand regarding its socio-political stance, and considered it quite premature to say anything about any future political alliance, which would only be decided by party’s coordination committee.
