CNews KARACHI: Price of sugar per 100 kg bag has been decreased in Sindh and Punjab by Rs.25 and Rs.40, respectively.
The market sources told CNews News that after this decline, the price of 100 kg bag of sugar has become Rs.2,615 in Sindh and Rs.2,675 in Punjab.
They said that the trend of continued decline in the price of sugar in Sindh and Punjab is due to the improvement in the production of fresh crop of sugarcane during the current season.
Besides, the sugar mills are selling their old stocks at lower rates due to the beginning of the new crushing season and on the expectations of achieving better crops.
During the last few days, price of 100 kg bag of sugar has been decreased by Rs.40 in Sindh and Rs.65 in Punjab.
