CNews KARACHI: The whole country has caught the election fever, as the date for general election is drawing near with flags and banners of various political parties are being seen in nearly every nook and corner of the country.The election activities are in full swing.The ballot papers and inerasable ink have been transported to all Sindh districts including Karachi. Talking to Geo News, Provincial Election commissioner Chaudhry Qamaruz Zaman said that all important arrangements have been completed for holding the elections on February 18.The electoral materials of sensitive nature including inerasable ink and ballot papers have been handed over to all district Returning officers.The Provincial Election Commissioner said postal ballots for people offering duties in various parts of the country, overseas Pakistanis and prisoners have been received on the assigned date.All the party workers are seen canvassing voters to cast their votes in favour of their respective parties with flags, banners, hoardings and large billboards swarming the city thoroughfares and streets.It is very welcome sign that every party has equal access to the advertisement with banners of the rival parties can be seen on the same place.Commenting on this, the citizens said that this spirit of co-existence and fortitude is appreciable.Also, the army has been put on stand-by to help civil administration and the Rangers on sensitive polling stations.

July 05: A Pakistani Scientist in Britain has invented a new chemical for processing plastic (polythene) bags which has the quality of dissolution after its use in 105 days.A manufacturing unit for these plastic bags was being set up in Turkey while interest has been shown in the setting up of a big unit and manufacturing firm’s head quarter in Karachi which will be used to supply such dissolvable polythene bags to Asian countries. The Director of UK based firm Bio Plast Biodegradable Plastics GL Punn while leading a 15 member delegation called on EDO Municipal Services City Government Masood Alam. The Executive Director of Bio Plast Pakistan Muhammad Hanif Awan and M. Sultan Mehmood Awan was also present on this occasion.
