CNews BERLIN: German prosecutors said Friday they have arrested a 45-year-old German-Pakistani suspected of providing financial and logistical support to members of al-Qaida in the southern Afghanistan region.Federal prosecutors identified the man only as Aleem N., an ethnic Pakistani with German citizenship.He is suspected making four trips between April 2005 and June 2007 to Pakistan's border region with Afghanistan to deliver $5,850 and in three cases, additional equipment such as binoculars, night-vision goggles and radios to al-Qaida members in positions of responsibility, the prosecutors said in a statement.Police in the southwestern state of Rheinland-Palatinate arrested the man on Thursday in his home in Germersheim, the statement said.
