Police on Monday started removing barbed wire outside the house of the deposed judge following an order by the newly-elected Prime Minister Yousuf Raza Gilani, an CNews photographer witnessed.
The development came minutes after new Prime Minister Yousuf Raza Gilani ordered the release of Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry and dozens of other judges in his first speech after being elected by parliament.
"I order all the detained judges to be released immediately," said Gilani.
If reinstated as the PPP and PML-N party coalition has vowed, the judges could rule Musharraf's re-election as president for another five-year term illegal and effectively oust him from his position.
