CNews Karachi: Deputy Convener, Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM), Rabita Committee, Dr. Farooq Sattar on Wednesday called upon the government to employee all resources to maintain tranquility in metropolis.Addressing a press conference at nine zero here, he assured full support on behalf of MQM to the government in maintaining law and order in the city.He said violent disturbance in Lahore and metropolis are the conspiracies against the country and democracy.He said that violent incidents in Karachi are attempts to derail democracy and against the process of national reconciliation.Dr. Farooq strongly deplored the violence against the MQM lawyers near at City Courts here and called it as a brutal act.MQM lawyers were subjected to severe torture while they were returning after a peaceful protest against the manhandling of former federal minister, Dr. Sher Afghan Niazi, he apprised.He said that 12 lawyers including a woman lawyer, Shagufta Yasmeen and Naeem Khanzada received wounds in the violence, few of them, he said are in critical condition.MQM leader also deplored the incident of recovery of five burnt bodies from Tahir Plaza near City Courts here and termed it a worst example of barbarism.Incharge of the MQM body, Anwer Alam, Joint Incharge, Abdul Haseeb Baig and member Shoaib Bukhari were also present.
