Power, water famine pile miseries on Karachiites

CNews KARACHI: Karachi remained blighted by persistent power load shedding for seven hours in the day and three hours in the night culminating into acute water shortage as well, while the hapless citizens kept groaning and grumbling with no relief in sight from anywhere.

Power outage after every two hours in most of parts of the city and after every one hour in some parts keep hitting the city here. Besides the prolonged unannounced load shedding, breakdowns have also made the life of the citizens unbearable, as this has also triggered acute water shortage piling miseries on the citizens. Among the areas most affected by power outage included Federal B Area Block 12, 14, Gulberg, Landhi, North Karachi, Nazimabad, SITE Area, Orangi Town, Shah Faisal Colony, Malir, Lines Area, Liaquatabad, Gulbahar, North Nazimabad, Dastagir, Gulistan-e-Jauhar, Mahmoodabad and Manzoor Colony.
