CNews ISLAMABAD: Supreme Court, while issuing order for withholding the by-poll in NA-123, issued notices to the parties.
Nawaz Sharif’s lawyer, Akram Sheikh Advocate told media that the SC has withheld the by-election until the resolution of dispute.
SC three-member Bench, headed by Justice Musa Laghari comprising of Justice Zawwar Hussain Jaffery and Justice Farrukh Saeed, was hearing the petition against restraining Mian Nawaz Sharif from contesting election.
Regular hearing of the case will be held from next Monday.
Prior to the hearing of petition, Attorney General Malik Muhammad Qayyum told CNews News that the petition filed by the federation has raised the major objection and important question of the competence of Lahore High Court (LHC) hearing that whether or not LHC had the authority to give decision on this writ petition. Notices would be issued in this regard, besides the Court could pass an interim order, which was well within its authority, he told.
