CNews KARACHI: Four of a same family members along with four others were laid to rest amid 10 that were left dead as a building collapsed at the Buldia Town locality here in Karachi on Sunday.
The three-storey building collapsed early on the Sunday morning, which left 10 people dead and many others injured who were shifted to hospitals.
The city district workers, fire brigade crew and other authorities had called for heavy machinery for excavation. Many Chhipa and Edhi welfare ambulances reached the area and helped making efforts in rescue.
Rescue workers had recovered six bodies from the rubble while 4 others succumbed to injuries in hospital. According to hospital sources, the incident claimed 10 lives including Shan aged 20, Shehzada aged 15, Haris aged 2, Rizwana aged 20, Mah Gul aged 70 and Ghaffar aged 22.
The injured include Ayaz, Abid, Mehwish, Nisar, Salim, Simra, Qudratullah, Arif, Masood, Arbina, Anar Bibi, Sawab Gul, Ibrahim and Sona. Five families were reported to be living in the building and death toll is expected to mount.
The devastated building had 5 families comprising of 28 members and was built some 18 months ago.
