Karachi under bomb blasts attack

CNews KARACHI: At least seven blasts occurred here in various areas of Karachi in forty-minute time, killing two men and injuring at least 50 people including eight children on Monday evening.The people are extremely panicked as there are rumours are more imminent bomb blasts in the city. The latest in the series of blasts are two bomb blasts that occurred in Pak Colony area of Baraboard injuring several people. The blast was so powerful that a house caved in.In Orangi Town area of Kasba More, a bomb was blown up, which injured several people. Of these critically injured, one man succumbed to injuries and passed away.According to sources, the bomb was planted in motorcycle.In Orangi Town area of Banars Chowk, two relatively small bombs were blown up in which at least 23 people were injured.At least 30 injured have been shifted to Abbasi Shaheed Hospital, of them, two people passed away.Another bomb exploded near Shara-e-Noor Jahan police station, injuring at least nine people.According to the reports, the bomb was rigged to a car parked at the Shara-e-Noor Jahan.Another bomb blast occurred near CDA Chawrangi and Ziaud Din Hospital in Hyderi area, injuring various people, who are being shifted to hospital.According to eye-witnesses, the blast occurred in a Mazda truck number-3549.According to sources, the bomb was placed in a taxi parked near school. The ambulances soon arrived on the spot. According to eyewitnesses, the taxi number was 4929.Police and the Rangers have been put on red alert following the incident. The emergency has been declared in nearly all the hospitals.The people are witnessed panicked and rushing towards their homes causing massive traffic jams on various thoroughfares. Sindh governor Dr. Ishratul Ibad condemned these blasts and directed the concerned authorities to expedite relief activities.Meantime, Prime Minister Syed Yousuf Raza Gilani also condemned these recent blasts. In a message, he urged the people to stay calm.He talked to Advisor to PM on interior Rehman Malik and directed for high alert in all the provinces.
