CNews ISLAMABAD: PML Secretary General, Senator Mushahid Hussain Sayed has convened a Media Conference of all PML Provincial Information Secretaries and Media Coordinators here at PML House on August 1. Talking to media here at PML House, Senator Mushahid Hussain said this would be the first PML media conference after the elections and would be to "review media work and prepare a comprehensive plan of action" for PML media strategy, keeping in view the Party's broader political strategy.Mushahid said the Conference would have participation of all formation Secretaries of PML from the four provinces as well as the Media Coordinators working in the key media centres, including the Sindhi media. He explained to journalists that in the last few weeks, the PML has been active on the media and political front launching three different fact sheets from Islamabad, Hyderabad and Peshawar pertaining to the dismal performance of the government during 100 days. The PML had also launched media briefings on both Foreign Policy issues particularly the campaign against terrorism and extremism as well as the flawed trade policy of the government. Briefing the media on the recent visits of Sindh and NWFP, the PML Secretary General said that "winds of change are blowing all across the country" and "never before in the history of Pakistan has a government let down the electorate so soon after its installation." He said the biggest challenge for PML is to lift the country's morale from the general air of despondency and demoralization and "we will continue to serve as a constructive opposition presenting an alternative perspective on issues." The Media Conference would be presided over by PML President, Chaudhry Shujaat Hussain while PML Secretary General, Senator Mushahid Hussain will provide a Work Plan for the PML media. PML Information Secretary will present proposals for implementation of the work plan. The meeting will start at 10.30 am.

July 05: A Pakistani Scientist in Britain has invented a new chemical for processing plastic (polythene) bags which has the quality of dissolution after its use in 105 days.A manufacturing unit for these plastic bags was being set up in Turkey while interest has been shown in the setting up of a big unit and manufacturing firm’s head quarter in Karachi which will be used to supply such dissolvable polythene bags to Asian countries. The Director of UK based firm Bio Plast Biodegradable Plastics GL Punn while leading a 15 member delegation called on EDO Municipal Services City Government Masood Alam. The Executive Director of Bio Plast Pakistan Muhammad Hanif Awan and M. Sultan Mehmood Awan was also present on this occasion. The Director of Bio Plast informed the EDO Municipal Services about the characteristics of new chemical.
