CNews ISLAMABAD: Minister for Labour, Manpower and Overseas Pakistan Syed Khursheed Shah Monday said the decision on next President will be made within 72 hours. Talking to media persons at Parliament House he said the name of the candidate for Presidentship would be announced after the consensus of the party.
When asked if PPP co-chairman Asif Ali Zardari would be the President of Pakistan, Shah said, “the name would be finalised by the party.”
He termed the resignation of Pervez Musharraf “triumph of people, democracy and mandate given on February 18.” Pervez Musharraf took a right decision, he added.
To a question about trial of Pervez Musharraf, the Minister said, “We want to save and strengthen the country and politics of confrontation would harm its sovereignty. However, the party would decide future strategy.”
Regarding restoration of judges by executive order, he said, Parliament is a sovereign body and everything will be decided according to the Constitution and Law.
