Cnews KARACHI: Sindh Minister for Home Affairs Dr Zulfiqar Mirza has ordered foolproof security arrangements aimed at protecting the lives and property of citizens during Ramazan.The minister directed the IGP, Sindh, to adopt foolproof security measures at mosques and Imambargahs, besides open places where worshipers gather for prayers. He directed special arrangements at shopping centers, recreational and other public places as well.Dr Zulfiqar Mirza observed that the current situation demanded enforcement of extraordinary security measures. He stressed upon gearing up the working of Intelligence units at police stations to keep an eye on anti-social and criminal elements.He called for random snap checking at all identified places and particularly around mosques, Imambargahs and open places where Namaz-e-Taraveeh would be offered.The establishment of police posts and deployment of personnel in plainclothes would be ensured at important buildings and worship places, he added.Mirza also instructed the DIG, Traffic, Capital city Police to ensure special traffic arrangements during Ramazan to facilitate uninterrupted traffic flow.

July 05: A Pakistani Scientist in Britain has invented a new chemical for processing plastic (polythene) bags which has the quality of dissolution after its use in 105 days.A manufacturing unit for these plastic bags was being set up in Turkey while interest has been shown in the setting up of a big unit and manufacturing firm’s head quarter in Karachi which will be used to supply such dissolvable polythene bags to Asian countries. The Director of UK based firm Bio Plast Biodegradable Plastics GL Punn while leading a 15 member delegation called on EDO Municipal Services City Government Masood Alam. The Executive Director of Bio Plast Pakistan Muhammad Hanif Awan and M. Sultan Mehmood Awan was also present on this occasion.
