Foreign hand involved in Benazir murder: Malik

CNews ISLAMABAD: Advisor to Prime Minister on Interior A. Rehman Malik said a foreign hand is involved in the assassination of former Chairperson of Pakistan People’s Party Benazir Bhutto.Talking to media at Quetta airport, he said investigations into the assassination are underway and are still making headway.Rehman Malik said party Co-Chairman Asif Ali Zardari and he take on their shoulder the responsibility to resolve the problems of Balochistan, adding the federal government is quite sincere in resolving all the issues of Balochstan. Malik said, ‘This is high time we looked forward instead of just crying about the previous government.Earlier talking to mediapersons at Pakistan Institute of Medial Sciences (PIMS) he said the people of Bajaur are returning to their homes adding that during last few days over 16,000 families have come back. He said the government is taking measures to bring back the local people before the Holy month of Ramazan. "The government will maintain its writ at any cost and nobody will be allowed to challenge it." He said the government will not negotiate with militants, however, the local tribals will be involved in maintaining peace and order in tribal areas. Regarding Sihala attack Malik said a young boy left a shopping bag full of Potassium Cholroid near the gas pipeline which resulted in the explosion. He condemned the incident and urged the people to remain vigilant and cooperate with the law enforcing agencies for curbing terrorism and extremism. Referring to Wah Cantt blast he said the investigation is proceeding in the right direction and the culprits would be brought to justice soon. He said the intelligence agencies are working efficiently and shortly he will brief the media regarding their performance and achievement. Earlier, he visited the victims of Sihala blast at PIMS and inquired after their health.
